What is Parkinson's disease, and how does it affect individuals?

Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the brain, leading to tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. Named after Dr. James Parkinson, who first described the condition in 1817, it primarily affects people over the age of 60.

As a progressive disorder, Parkinson's disease gradually worsens over time. While there is currently no cure, medications and therapies can help manage symptoms and improve the quality of life for those affected.
